No Weapon Shall Prosper
On August 23 Trinten woke us up almost screaming in pain. He was holding his stomach, crying out, "make it stop!" To say this is unusual is an understatement. We thank God, our children have been, are, and will remain healthy.
We had been traveling around the US meeting new churches and sharing about what God is doing here in Beirut. The day before we had returned to Tulsa to take a couple of days rest. Suddenly, we were rushing to the Emergency Room.
Once in the ER, we were immediately seen and the doctor ordered a blood sample, other tests, and administered a pain reliever. Afterwards, Trinten fell right to sleep. The doctor came back and said that his blood test showed pancreatitis, though she couldn't find any cause.
The doctor admitted him and transferred us to the Pediatric Intensive Care. A specialist examined Trinten that afternoon. He ran tests and asked questions, then told us that he would have to put a tube in Trinten's throat because he would have nausea and vomiting as well as other symptomatic reactions common to pancreatitis. The doctor told us the only thing we could do was for Trinten to remain in the hospital for 7 days, not eating or drinking anything until the pancreas swelling to reduce.
We began the day praying for relief from pain and wisdom for the doctors to know what was causing this pain. When we heard all this, we refused that prognosis in the Name of Jesus. We weren't alone either. Our home church, Rhema Bible Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as literally hundreds of our friends stood with us resisting this attack on our family and the ministry.
From the time Trinten fell asleep in the Emergency Room that morning, he never had any more pain. The doctor couldn't understand that. Trinten never had vomiting or nausea. They didn't have to put a tube in his throat! The next morning, they drew his blood again and found NO EVIDENCE of pancreatitis at all! I asked the doctor, how often does this happen where these numbers reverse in the blood like that? He said, "Never." He ordered food for Trinten to eat, less than 24 hours after the diagnosis. His plan was to monitor his pancreas numbers after eating. On the 25th, Trinten was released out of the hospital drinking a milkshake - completely healed. We took Trinten to his doctor on the 27th for a follow-up appointment and he was pronounced totally healed with no evidence that he had even went through the illness.
I'm sharing this so that you can rejoice with us - but also to encourage you. God can bring you through ANYTHING and you can come out on the other side without any EVIDENCE that the attack the devil had planned to take you out even occurred. 1 John 4:4 Tells us the Greater ONE is inside of US. He is ABLE to do GREATER than any weapon the devil tries to throw at us.
